House Teams

In Blairgowrie High School we have 4 Houses: Ericht, Glenisla, Stormont and Tay.  Every young person is assigned to a House and will usually remain under the pastoral care of the same ‘house team’ for their school career.

Each house has a Principal Teacher of Guidance assigned to it.  The guidance teachers are the first point of contact parents / carers, professionals and members of the community, when they get in touch with the school.  Where possible, the guidance teacher will be the one constant person in each pupil’s learning journey through secondary school.

House Teams
Our Intensive Support Provision classes (Tay 4) are part of Tay House and Mrs Philip (Principal Teacher of Pupil Support ISP ) is the first point of contact for young people in these classes.

The relationship between the Guidance Teacher and young people in their caseload is developed during their weekly contact in timetabled Social Education classes along with regular conversations about learning and wellbeing.

Each house is also supported by a Pupil Support Teacher who work within our Support for Learning Department.  Mrs Lamond is the Principal Teacher of Pupil Support.

Our Depute Headteachers are heads of specific year groups and stay with the same year groups throughout their time in secondary school.

For session 2024/ 25, the Depute Headteachers have responsibility for the following year groups :

Mr Wallace is also the link Depute Headteacher for our Tay 4 pupils.

Our young people are also well known and supported through our daily registration class, which takes place at the start of every day.

We also have regular assemblies, either in year groups, or in house groups, to provide a sense of community and belonging to Blairgowrie High School.
