Freshers' Week 2017

As part of Blairgowrie High School’s P7 into S1 transition programme all S1 pupils take part in Freshers’ Week. This is a five day event commencing Monday 28th August. The week is centred on the theme of ASPIRE and in particular focusses on team building activities where pupils will be given extra opportunities to work together in Houses and get to know each other. There will be a variety of activities offered throughout the week with staff and other partner organisations offering exciting opportunities.

If pupils’ do not have a sleeping bag please let the school know so we can make sure that pupils’ can borrow one. Pupils will attend the residential according to House as follows –  

  • Glenisla – Monday 28th August (overnight) and Tuesday 29th August (day activities) return to school by approximately 3pm
  • Tay – Tuesday 29th August (overnight) and Wednesday 30th August (day activities) return to school by approximately 3pm
  • Stormont – Wednesday 30th August (overnight) and Thursday 31st August (day activities) return to school by approximately 3pm

Pupils are to bring their overnight kit with them on the day that they are leaving for the overnight residential. All bags and clothes, etc. will be stored safely during the day and pupils can get changed into their own casual wear before they leave. The bus will leave school at 4pm each day for Gulabin Lodge. 

Pupils are to wear outdoor clothing on the Monday for the John Muir Award and also casual/sport clothing on Friday for the Freshers' Sports Fair. Pupils must wear school uniform on the other days with the exception of when they are at Gulabin Lodge.
